    Application Requirements
    1. DESIGN THINKING Components
      • Design Thinking Components (500 words max):
        The product must address an engineering or technical design flaw or problem. Your improved design (prototype), should address the following questions:
        • What problem are you solving?
        • How does your prototype work?
        • Who benefits from your design and how?
        • Upload a video or photo(s) of the prototype
      • Short Answer (250 words): Why do you wish to join the STEM Saturdays program and how will you use the skills learned in the course to add value to your community or school community.
    2. High School Transcript
      • Unofficial accepted
      • 9th graders without high school grades: submit 8th-grade transcript
      • If any grade is below a B, include a guidance counselor letter explaining why
    3. Recommendation Letter
      • From a teacher or supervisor (middle school instructor or guidance counselor for 9th graders)
      • Must address leadership teamwork, and motivation
      • Letters are due by the application deadline
    4. Student Submission OnlyDetails
      • Parents may not complete the application on behalf of students, parental impersonation will result in disqualification.
    *Financial Assistance
    Full financial aid is available.
    Eligibility: Students who reside in the five boroughs of New York City and are enrolled in a NYC public school may qualify to receive a full fee waiver.
    Note: Fee waivers are not guaranteed and are prioritized based on financial need.
